Case Study: MIS Consolidation Project: One MIS, Eleven Schools

Our case studies showcase how important partnership is to us as well as the transformative impact of technology on teaching and learning.

iCT4 partnered with An Daras Trust to consolidate eleven primary schools onto a single Management Information System, replacing two separate MIS platforms with a unified Bromcom setup that supports the Trust’s central team and frees up budget for teaching and learning.

One MIS for eleven schools

An Daras Trust is a trust of eleven primary schools. Like many growing trusts, An Daras had inherited a mixed system landscape, with eight schools running on SIMS and three on Arbor. The Directors and Senior Leadership Team needed a single Management Information System (MIS) that would link every school, give the central team a consistent view, and free up budget for teaching and learning.

The drivers were straightforward: cost, efficiency, convenience, and a standard approach. The Trust also wanted a platform that could replace several other software packages, including online payments, parent communications, and assessment, removing duplication and reducing the number of contracts to manage.

iCT4 was brought in to lead the procurement process and deliver the migration without disrupting the day to day running of any school. iCT4 is vendor agnostic, with no commercial tie to any single MIS provider, which meant An Daras could weigh every credible platform on its own merits and choose the one that genuinely fit the Trust.

Managing the migration to Bromcom

iCT4 supported the Trust Business Manager and the wider team through gathering quotes, comparing platforms, and coordinating demos with multiple staff members across the Trust. The shortlist was then presented to the Directors for final approval.
Once Bromcom was selected, iCT4 worked alongside the Trust to plan and deliver the migration in phases.

Moving eight schools from one MIS and three from another onto a single Bromcom setup is no small undertaking, but the real challenge proved to be timing. iCT4’s onboarding team worked closely with the Trust’s secretaries and central staff to keep every school on track and absorb an unexpected delay from one of the outgoing providers.

"The support from iCT4 has been amazing for both myself and the secretaries.  Using a group teams chat has been helpful as have the ability to phone, email direct with Alana and Glyn but also via support tickets."

Impact across the Trust

An Daras Trust now operates on one MIS across all eleven schools. The Trust has been able to retire several separate software packages, simplifying its supplier landscape, reducing cost, and giving the central team a single source of truth for pupil, attendance and assessment data.

For the Trust Business Manager, the secretaries, and the school leadership teams, day to day work is now more consistent and easier to support across schools. An Daras is set up for the next stage of growth.
